The prime market represents the market segment of Wiener Börse AG that as of 1 January 2002 will comprise stocks (including also shares represented by certificates) of those companies that agree to fulfill more stringent reporting, quality and disclosure requirements, apart from meeting the legal criteria for the admission to listing on the Official Market of Wiener Börse AG as set out in the Austrian Stock Exchange Act. As 21 January 2019 the market segment direct market plus offers companies with low capital requirements the option of raising capital through the capital market. The direct market plus segment includes shares (including shares represented by certificates) which are traded on the Vienna MTF and of whose issuers agree to fulfill more stringent reporting, quality and disclosure requirements. An essential feature is the function of a Capital Market Coach, who supports the company. The direct market was founded on 21 January 2019 as a sub-segment of the Vienna Stock Exchange and replaces the segment other securities.at. It contains all shares and other equities (e.g. participation certificates, profit-sharing rights, UCITS shares etc.) admitted to trading in the Vienna MTF that cannot be allocated to any other segment.

The global market segment will trade only shares (including certificates representing shares) that are included in the Vienna MTF and listed on at least one other stock exchange, and for which at least the applicant – or an exchange member named by the applicant – assumes market making obligations.
