The Vienna Stock Exchange looks back on an excellent market performance in 2017, especially in terms of trading and initial public offerings. In December 2017, equity turnover at the Vienna Stock Exchange amounts to EUR 5.18 billion, a plus of 4.5% versus December 2016 (EUR 4.96 billion). Thanks to strong trading activity of exchange members, the total trading volume year-to-date is up 19.3% to EUR 66.77 billion (Jan-Dec 2016: EUR 55.95 billion.).
The strongest trading day this year was 25 October, the first trading day of BAWAG Group AG, with a total volume of EUR 961 million whereof EUR 592 million were generated by BAWAG stocks alone.
