The goal of Investor Relations (IR) is to actively inform investors, potential investors, analysts and the financial media about a company’s performance, strategy, and development.
Consistent investor relations activities are essential to a company’s success after going public. A publicly traded company’s good reputation is the key prerequisite for shareholders’ willingness to invest capital in that company.
Investor Relations professionals combine extensive internal and external networks with in-depth knowledge of their organization, industry, capital markets, financial instruments, and the broader economic and regulatory environment. They are therefore valuable points of contact not only for institutional investors but also for private shareholders.
Valuable information
Publicly listed companies provide a wealth of information through their corporate websites. Particularly important are quarterly and annual reports, which offer insights into the company's financial performance and business development. In addition, many companies actively engage with the financial community through social media channels such as e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram or YouTube. Furthermore, shareholders can obtain information directly from the company at the annual general meeting. Investors should take advantage of the wide range of information resources available to gain a comprehensive understanding of the companies they follow or invest in.
