In May 2026, the Vienna Stock Exchange recorded an equity trading volume of EUR 8.18 billion. This represents a significant increase of 34.9% compared with May of the previous year (EUR 6.06 billion). Year-to-date equity turnover in Vienna – generated by domestic and international trading members – amounted to EUR 42.22 billion. Compared to the same period last year, this is a plus of 35.8% (January-April 2025: EUR 31.10 billion).
The most actively traded Austrian stocks in the past month of January were Erste Group Bank AG with EUR 1.6 billion, followed by OMV AG with EUR 927 million and BAWAG Group AG with EUR 909 million.
