Vienna Stock Exchange welcomes first trading member from Ireland

(Vienna) As of today, Virtu Financial Ireland Limited is the first trading firm from Ireland to join as direct trading member the cash market of the Vienna Stock Exchange. With Virtu Financial Ireland Limited, Vienna Stock Exchange welcomes a second international trading member within just a few days – despite the currently adverse global environment for capital markets.

"Virtu announced that it would assume market making for all 20 ATX companies. I am happy about the great interest shown by Virtu Financial Ireland Limited in the Austrian capital market," said Michael Buhl, Member of the Management Board of Wiener Börse AG.

In total, 59 foreign market participants have been admitted as members to the Vienna Stock Exchange. A breakdown by country shows that most members come from Great Britain (19), Germany (19) and France (7).
