Goldman Sachs joins Wiener Börse as a new trading member

 

Goldman Sachs International, one of the world’s leading investment banks, joined Wiener Börse as a new trading member today. “We are very happy to be able to expand our trading activitiesfor our clients in Austria and Eastern Europe by becoming a full member of Wiener Börse. The excellent development of the Austrian capital market and the lively issuing activity encouraged our decision to take this step for the future,” said Christoph Stanger, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs International in London.

Goldman Sachs International is the sixth international trading participant of Wiener Börse this year. In total, there are 33 international investment banks admitted to trading on Wiener Börse and these accounted for some 56% of stock trading in November 2006. Ranked by country, the largest investors in the domestic ATX companies are 30% from the US, followed in second place by UK investors with 25%, and Germany in third place with 14%.
