New composition of Central and Eastern European benchmark indices

(Vienna) The regular review of the indices for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) resulted in changes to the CECE and NTX benchmark indices, among others. The changes will take effect on 21 September. The next scheduled review of the composition of the CEE indices will take place in March 2027. The calculation factors will be reviewed again in December 2026.

The Eastern European index consists of leading Polish, Hungarian and Czech companies.

The New Europe Blue Chip Index comprises the 30 largest blue chips from the markets of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.

All changes to the CEE indices resulting from the review are available online. As an index specialist for Central and Eastern Europe, the Vienna Stock Exchange currently offers more than 130 benchmarks. Calculation and publication follow the highest standards of transparency and quality, trusted by over 140 financial institutions worldwide.

Index calculation is based on a purely quantitative methodology set out in a rulebook. In accordance with the index rules, Vienna Stock Exchange may add or remove companies after the semi-annual review in March and September. The calculation parameters (number of shares, free float factors and representation factors) are reviewed quarterly in March, June, September and December. The Index Committee decides on the rules governing the indices. It brings together representatives from the investor and trading communities, issuers, academia, and the Vienna Stock Exchange.
