Types of indices

Indices can generally be classified into two types:

1. Price indices
Price indices are calculated using only stock prices
(e.g., ATX, CECE, RDX, etc.).

2. Performance indices (Total Return indices)
A performance index considers not only price changes but also dividend payments (e.g., ATX TR, CECE TR, RDX TR).

Performance index = price index + dividend payments
