The Vienna Stock Exchange will be open on tomorrow's public holiday (Immaculate Conception). The entire infrastructure – from trading to settlement – will be available. This year, trading has been possible on a total of four Austrian public holidays. Next year, the Vienna Stock Exchange will offer five selected Austrian holidays as additional trading days:
- We, 6 January 2021, Epiphany
- Th, 13 May 2021, Ascension Day
- Th, 3 June 2021, Corpus Christi Day
- Mo, 1 November 2021, All Saint's Day
- We, 8 December 2021, Immaculate Conception
Trading on selected Austrian holidays was introduced last year and brought the Austrian trading system availability closer to EU standards. The initiative is well received. The three additional trading days in 2020 so far generated a turnover of EUR 649 million. On average, over 80% of Vienna Stock Exchange’s equity turnover originates from international trading participants.
