The Vienna Stock Exchange will open its doors on 3 June 2021, offering stock exchange trading at the Austrian market place once again on a public holiday (Corpus Christi Day). The entire infrastructure of the Austrian financial centre – from trading to settlement – will be available tomorrow. After 6 January (Epiphany) and 13 May (Ascension Day), this is already the third Austrian public holiday in 2021 on which the Vienna Stock Exchange is open for trading. In total, the Vienna Stock Exchange offers five selected Austrian public holidays as additional trading days this year.
The upcoming holiday trading days are:
- Th, 3 June 2021, Corpus Christi Day
- Mo, 1 November 2021, All Saint's Day
- We, 8 December 2021, Immaculate Conception
The Vienna Stock Exchange – like many of its listed companies – operates globally. The initiative to trade on selected Austrian holidays is well received and especially seized by international trading participants, from whom an average of around 84% of Vienna Stock Exchange’s equity turnover is generated. Turnover on public holidays averages about three quarters of a regular trading day.
