EVN AG: Ad-hoc announcement - notification of damages to invoke a guarantee
in connection with the sodium hypochlorite facility in Moscow

Ad hoc announcement transmitted by DGAP - a company of EQS Group AG. The

Through its project company, WTE Projektgesellschaft Natriumhypochlorit
mbH, headquartered in Germany, EVN AG built a sodium hypochlorite facility
for the city of Moscow. The facility was completed in February 2013 and has
been in an operational state since then. The city of Moscow is not prepared
to maintain the approval for commencement of operations at the facility and
to fulfil its outstanding payment obligations vis-à-vis the project
company. The respective project company and EVN AG, however, are subject to
payment obligations in connection with the financing of the project.

EVN AG has therefore decided to invoke the federal guarantee for foreign
direct investments issued by the Federal Republic of Germany in the context
of the implementation of the project and to submit a notice for damages in
that regard. A guarantee event covers losses of investments and income in
connection with the construction and operation of the sodium hypochlorite
facility in an amount of up to EUR 251m.

The Federal Republic of Germany has indicated its intention to continue
applying diplomatic and political pressure - as it has in the past - at the
highest levels in an effort to prompt the government of the city of Moscow
to comply with its obligations vis-à-vis the EVN group in connection with
the sodium hypochlorite facility project as well as other projects to be 
carried out by the EVN group in Moscow, in particular the construction and
operation of the waste incineration plant MPZ1, in order to avoid the
occurrence of a damage event for purposes of the guarantee.
