PLEASANT DEVELOPMENT AGAINST A CHALLENGING MARKET
DO & CO Restaurants & Catering AG today announced its results for the first
quarter of business year 2008/2009 (1 April 2008 to 30 June 2008) in
accordance with IFRS.
DO & CO achieved total sales of EUR 129.97 million, which represents an
increase of EUR 43.74 million over the same period last year. Airline
Catering slightly increased its sales from EUR 62.62 million to EUR 63.00
million. Sales of the divison International Event Catering rose
extraordinarily from EUR 11.55 million to EUR 50.66 million due to the
sales of the EURO 2008 project. Divison Restaurants, Lounges & Hotel
reports sales of EUR 16.31 million compared to EUR 12.06 million in the
first quarter of the last business year.
The consolidated EBIT of the DO & CO Group after goodwill and amortization
for the first quarter of business year 2008/2009 amounts to EUR 4.81
million. EBIT margin rose to 3.7 % (PY: 3.2 %). EBITDA increased to EUR
9.01 million for an EBITDA margin of 6.9 % (PY: 7.4 %). After adjustments
for transitory sales of the EURO 2008 project an EBITDA margin of 8.3 % and
an EBIT margin of 4.4 % can be reported.
AIRLINE CATERING � The EBITDA of division Airline Catering rose from EUR
4.36 million to EUR 4.98. EBITDA margin improved from 7.0 % in the first
quarter of 2007/2008 to 7.9 % in 2008/2009. EBIT grew from 1.61 million to
EUR 1.86 million for an EBIT margin of 2.9 % (VJ: 2.6 %).
INTERNATIONAL EVENT CATERING � Division International Event Catering
reports an EBITDA of million EUR 2.32 million against EUR 0.77 in the same
period of the previous year with an EBITDA margin of 5.6 % (PY: 9.7 %),
EBIT margin lies at 4.6 % (PY: 6.7 %). After adjustments for transitory
sales within the EURO 2008 project divison International Event Catering
shows an EBIT margin of 7.8 %.
RESTAURANTS, LOUNGES & HOTEL � EBITDA of division Restaurants, Lounges &
Hotel improved from EUR 0.86 million in the first quarter of 2007/2008 to
EUR 1.22 million in the ongoing business year. EBITDA margin rose from 7.1
% to 7.5 %. EBIT increased by EUR 0.27 million to EUR 0.64 million which
results in an improved EBIT margin of 3.9 % compared to 3.1 % in the first
quarter of 2007/2008.
