Conception, calculation, dissemination, service – Vienna Stock Exchange, your partner for index solutions.

The rules and regulations for Austrian indices are decided by the ATX Committee. The Index Committee includes representatives of institutional investors, Vienna Stock Exchange trading members, representatives of financial institutions that issue products on indices, academic researchers and the Vienna Stock Exchange. The Committee meets on a quarterly basis (March, June, September and December). Pursuant to the “Rules for the Austrian Indices of Wiener Börse AG”, the ATX Committee may add or remove stocks from the index at its bi-annual review meetings (March and September). The decision to include a stock in the index is reached on the basis of the daily average trading volume and free float capitalization of the companies. The basis used for this is the ATX-Watchlist which is published monthly. The calculation parameters (number of shares, free float and weighting factors) are reviewed on a quarterly basis. The index adjustments decided at the periodical reviews are carried out on the third Friday of the respective month (except for holidays). The changes to the index take effect on the next trading day.
