Over 75% of all trading turnover in Austrian shares worldwide takes place on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

As far as trading in Austrian shares is concerned, the Vienna Stock Exchange is the market leader by a considerable distance. As data from the independent analysis company LiquidMetrix verifies, three-quarters of all stock exchange turnover in Austrian company shares occurs on the Vienna Exchange. Following a three-year upward trend (turnover gain of 50%, 2013 vs. 2015), in 2016 the trading volume remained stable. All is all, turnover in equities on the Vienna Stock Exchange during the past year amounted to EUR 55.6 billion.
